RUSSELL BRAND JOINS NICHOLAS CAGE IN OSAMA BIN LADEN COMEDY
Russell Brand is returning to the big screen with an exciting role to play and entertain us as usually. He will be joining Nicholas cage in the upcoming comedy dubbed Army on, a comedy which has been based on a story of Gary Faulkner, a handyman from Colorado who had a vision about capturing Osama Bin Laden then went to Pakistan to pursue it.
This will be Brand’s first film since paradise in 2013; he also has his documentary “the emperor’s new clothes”. It is not yet known what role Brand will play, but Cage will take up the lead role in the movie.
The script was written by Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph and it’s based on GQ article by Chris Heath.
The producers of the movie will be Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler of Conde Nast entertainment, James D. Stern of Endgame entertainment and Eile Gladstone.
Back in 2001 Brand was fired after dressing up like Osama bin laden one day after September 11. He recently reunited with his regular radio presenting team of comedians Matt Morgan and “Poet Laureate” Mr. Gee. Each program is 45 minutes.
“Having Russell return to XFM is great news and something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time” Chriss Baughen said. He also said that radio is where Russell does his best work and along with many XFM and his fans. “I can’t wait to hear what’s got in store. This year is likely to be good for Brand, his talents will surely make this movie a must watch.
